Risk and Hazard Assessment for Construction – New Sports Hall at Söderblom Gymnasium Espelkamp and Demolition of Existing Sports Halls

This project began with a design competition for the replacement of the sports hall at Söderblom Gymnasium Espelkamp in 2019. The winning firm, bwarchitektur from Münster, was awarded the contract for both general planning and construction management. By 2021, under bwarchitektur's leadership, planning reached approximately service phase 6. However, planning was halted in the same year due to unexpected additional costs. A revised plan for the new construction was developed in 2022, reaching approximately service phase 6, while a separate planning group worked on the demolition plan up to service phase 3. In September 2022, based on the updated plan, a funding application was submitted for the new construction and demolition. In August 2023, funding was confirmed by BBSR. The funding provider has attached conditions to the planning and construction, detailed in the attached funding notice.
