Federated WiFi Authentication System for London Public Networks

The London Borough of Camden is conducting preliminary market engagement to explore federated authentication solutions for its Connected London public WiFi programme. Working with the Greater London Authority and partner organisations, Camden seeks to understand current market capabilities and technical approaches for implementing OpenRoaming® standard-based authentication that enables seamless access across multiple participating organisations while maintaining individual governance and infrastructure control. Key Requirements: Camden is interested in solutions that support OpenRoaming and industry standards, enable federated identity and authentication across multiple organisations, integrate with enterprise wireless infrastructure, support secure and privacy-conscious user access, minimise vendor lock-in through open standards and documented APIs, and support a scalable ecosystem including public sector, voluntary and community sector, and private sector partners. Market Engagement Details: Camden is seeking direct engagement with organisations that develop, own or operate authentication technologies or services. Resellers, distributors and systems integrators should not participate at this stage. Selected organisations may be invited to focused technical discussions. Important Notes: This is preliminary market engagement under the Procurement Act 2023 and does not constitute a call for competition or procurement commitment.
