Ambulance Manual Handling Training and Consultancy Services

The South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWAST) is seeking a qualified provider to deliver specialist manual handling training and consultancy services to its workforce across the South West of England (Bristol, Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Gloucestershire, Somerset, and Wiltshire). The contract aims to maintain safe, effective, and compliant manual handling practices for operational and non-operational staff, reducing injury risk and improving workforce wellbeing. The successful provider will deliver specialist training, expert consultancy, and train-the-trainer programs to build the Trust's internal manual handling capability. Key requirements include demonstrated expertise in specialist manual handling within ambulance and healthcare settings, robust quality assurance and governance processes, effective risk management, and the ability to drive meaningful service improvements. The contract will commence on 1 September 2026 for an initial three-year period with an optional three-year extension (maximum six years total). The estimated maximum contract value is £60,000 excluding VAT. This is a below-threshold open procurement conducted under the Procurement Act 2023.
