Multiple Infrared Mirror System for Diamond Light Source B22 Beamline Upgrade

Diamond Light Source (DLS) is a leading research facility on the Harwell Science & Innovation Campus in Oxfordshire. The facility is undergoing a major upgrade to Diamond-II, which will significantly enhance experimental capabilities for academic and industrial researchers studying atomic and molecular structures. The B22 beamline is the infrared (IR) synchrotron beamline that operates across the infrared and terahertz (THz) spectrum (1 meV to 1 eV, approximately 1 m to 1 mm wavelength) and provides microspectroscopy and nanospectroscopy capabilities through three end stations. This contract seeks a supplier to design, manufacture, and deliver an opto-mechanical multiple mirror system that will support three infrared mirrors (M2a, M2b, M2c) with motorised 3-point kinematic motion for precise alignment. The system must include an ultra-high vacuum (UHV) vessel with mechanical support structures and fine adjustment mechanisms to enable accurate optical alignment. The supplier will work to detailed performance specifications using a shared design concept. Bidders should have experience in precision opto-mechanical systems, UHV engineering, and synchrotron beamline instrumentation.
