Decision Making under Uncertainty in Transport Planning

This project seeks to interview key experts from at least four relevant fields to explore their techniques for analyzing and presenting uncertainty in transport planning. One interview will be conducted with a professional from the Operational Research Society's Decision Analysis Special Interest Group, while the others will focus on diverse approaches to gather a broad range of insights applicable to transport planning. The project will also consider international practices that may differ from UK standards. The findings will compare these methods with traditional transport planning approaches and each other, leading to recommendations that highlight the advantages and challenges of each technique. The work will encompass both transport modeling and analysis related to transport planning. Additionally, the consultant will discuss various ways to present the analysis results to decision-makers. Deliverables include: - A technical note outlining the selected individuals and interview areas - A technical report summarizing the interview results and conclusions on managing uncertainty in transport modeling and planning.
