Ecological Resource and Landscaping for Habitat Creation

Balfour Beatty is seeking suppliers to provide ecological resources and landscaping services for habitat creation in the areas north of the Thames. The selected contractor will be responsible for supplying and establishing landscape and ecological elements to mitigate the impact on Great Crested Newts (GCN) at specified locations. This work must comply with the DMRB HCHW Series 3000 specifications for National Highways and adhere to the GCN license requirements, ensuring that the created habitats are maintained for at least one year before GCN relocation. Additionally, all landscaping must follow relevant planting policies and safety regulations related to utility networks. The contractor will also be required to maintain the newly seeded and planted areas for a period of 60 months after completion, provide monthly inspection reports during the implementation phase, and quarterly reports during the maintenance period. Records of pesticide use must be submitted monthly or within one month of application.
