Invitation to Tender for Quality Assurance Proof Readers

The Department of Education and the Standards and Testing Agency (STA) is inviting suppliers to submit tenders for a new opportunity under the Educational and Children's Social Care (ECSC) Framework. This framework, established on February 1, 2025, is the primary method for the Department for Education to procure specialist and advisory services, running for four years with a possible two-year extension until February 1, 2031. The framework is dynamic, allowing for the addition of new lots as needed. Currently, the Department is reopening the framework to add Lot 13: Quality Assurance Proof Readers. The goal of this procurement is to obtain resources that will support the Quality Assurance processes within STA for the tests they develop. STA seeks to establish a pool of proofreaders to ensure the quality and accuracy of key stage 1 and key stage 2 national curriculum tests, as well as the reception baseline assessment. These tests include the Year 1 phonics screening check, English grammar, punctuation and spelling assessments for key stages 1 and 2, English reading assessments for key stages 1 and 2, mathematics assessments for key stages 1 and 2, and the Year 4 multiplication tables check (MTC). Please note that changes in government policy may expand the scope of assessments covered by contracts awarded to successful suppliers.
