Interpretation and Exhibition Fit-Out Contractor for Leach Pottery Heritage Site

The Bernard Leach (St Ives) Trust Ltd is seeking an experienced contractor to deliver interpretation and exhibition fit-out works at the Leach Pottery in St Ives, Cornwall. This £375,000-£400,000 contract (excluding VAT) is part of a £10 million capital redevelopment of this world-renowned studio pottery heritage site, funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and other supporters. The successful contractor will act as both Principal Designer and Principal Contractor, responsible for manufacturing, supplying, and installing four main packages: setworks and 3D elements, display showcases (including Government Indemnity Scheme standard cases), graphics and 2D elements, and exhibition lighting. Works will span historic Grade II listed pottery buildings, refurbished extensions, new learning studios, reception areas, outdoor spaces, and cross-site wayfinding. The appointment is on a JCT Intermediate Building Contract with Contractor's Design (ICD) 2024, with practical completion by 4 June 2027 and site opening on 18 June 2027. On-site installation runs from 22 March to 31 May 2027. Applicants must complete a compulsory site visit and submit by noon on 12 June 2026. Evaluation is based 65% on quality and 35% on price.
