Interpretation and Exhibition Fit-Out Contractor for Leach Pottery Museum

The Bernard Leach (St Ives) Trust Ltd is seeking an experienced contractor to design and deliver interpretation and exhibition fit-out works for the Leach Pottery Museum in St Ives, Cornwall. This is a £375,000–£400,000 contract (excl. VAT) as part of a £10 million National Lottery Heritage Fund-supported capital redevelopment of this world-renowned studio pottery heritage site. The contractor will act as both Principal Designer and Principal Contractor, responsible for manufacturing, supplying, and installing four main packages: setworks and 3D elements, display showcases (including Government Indemnity Scheme standard cases), graphics and 2D elements, and exhibition lighting across multiple spaces including historic Grade II listed buildings, refurbished extensions, new Learning studios, reception areas, outdoor spaces, and wayfinding installations. Works must be coordinated with the client, base build contractors, interpretive designers, and a separately appointed AV contractor. The JCT Intermediate Building Contract with Contractor's Design (ICD) 2024 applies, with practical completion by 4 June 2027 and site opening on 18 June 2027. Compulsory site visits run 28 April–28 May 2026; submissions deadline is noon on 12 June 2026. Evaluation is based 65% on quality and 35% on price.
