Maintenance, Support and Mentoring for Western Route Electrical Infrastructure

Network Rail is seeking a contractor to provide ongoing maintenance and support services for electrical infrastructure on the Great Western route, which has been recently electrified through the Crossrail West and Great Western Electrification Programme. The successful contractor will be responsible for maintaining new substation assets and associated equipment serving the routes. Key services required include: • Preventive and corrective maintenance of distribution equipment • Maintenance and troubleshooting of IPC (Intelligent Power Control) and SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems • Staff training and mentorship programs for Network Rail personnel • 24/7 technical telephone support line • Rapid response to fault reports and system failures For major incidents such as transformer failures or fires, the contractor is responsible for emergency stabilization to restore passenger service. Additional rectification work beyond emergency response will be procured separately and may be subject to competitive tendering. Network Rail reserves the right to conduct open market procurement for major incident recovery works outside this framework agreement.
