Water Management Study for Former Mining Areas

This contract involves conducting a comprehensive water management study aimed at developing a water network and quality that addresses conservation, mining, and water law concerns while minimizing the long-term impacts of lignite mining. The study area covers the former mining regions of Schlabendorf and Seese. Suppliers are expected to create sustainable solutions for connecting residual mining waters to the water system and assess their effects on downstream water bodies leading to the Spree River. Key tasks include: - Identifying routes for connecting residual mining waters, considering water management, conservation, economic, geotechnical, property, and technical aspects - Calculating water levels to determine the capacity of the connection system - Assessing the impact on connected water bodies regarding water quantity and quality - Describing the legal conditions related to water, mining, and conservation for the intended approval process - Conducting economic evaluations and rough cost estimates (in variants) - Developing a preliminary schedule for implementing measures while considering interdependencies - Identifying water management structures to be built or modified (e.g., weirs, culverts, bridges) including preliminary sizing and rough cost estimates.
