Germany – Construction Works – OPZ - Partial Renovation: Network Technology Ground Floor

The University Hospital Bonn is planning fire protection and functional upgrades for Building 22 / OPZ. This includes renovating the power supply due to fire protection deficiencies. In the first construction phase, the low-voltage main distribution (NSHV) in the 3rd basement will be renewed. Preparatory work, such as cutting a new door element, demolishing wall sections, and modifying raised floor constructions, is necessary. The 3rd basement is located approximately at -10m relative to the access areas, and there is no direct access. As part of the fire protection renovation of the Operational Center, the anesthesia and pain clinic will be completely restructured and freed from all electrical and fire protection deficiencies. The main distributors for power and IT infrastructure have already been renewed and are free of defects; however, there are still numerous deficiencies in the stations that will be addressed as part of this project. Since some rooms will serve different functions in the future, a comprehensive revision of the electrical installation is necessary. The anesthesia station is currently supplied by two sub-distributors - this change will also take place in the project. The main routes cross the fire section and will be sealed according to regulations upon completion. The window offices will remain connected via base channels, which will be newly installed. Interior spaces will be supplied through existing connections as well as additional lines in lightweight walls. The existing lighting will mostly be retained; only rooms with new ceilings will receive new lighting. The expected start of network technology on the ground floor is scheduled for February 2026. An open European tender will be issued for the network technology services.
