North Rona Lighthouse Minor Refurbishment Project

The North Rona Lighthouse is located on a remote, uninhabited Scottish island 71 km northeast of the Isle of Lewis, making it one of the most isolated sites in the British Isles. The lighthouse compound comprises three buildings: the lighthouse tower, engine block, and accommodation block. This project involves minor civil maintenance and protective coating work, including replacing seals on fiberglass buildings, painting the lighthouse tower, installing a replacement door, replacing a water tank, repairing fibreglass sections, replacing broken slabs, undertaking fencing works, and removing marine growth. All access to the site is by helicopter only, with the first landing scheduled for 30 September 2026. The contractor must provide a team of 2-4 workers per site block, with workers remaining on station to operate the engine block.
