Swimming Pool Facilities and Lessons for Derbyshire Schools

Derbyshire Council is seeking qualified swimming pool facility providers to deliver a school swimming programme across the county. Providers must offer pools with capacity for up to 35 pupils and be equipped to teach Key Stage 1, Key Stage 2, and SEND pupils. Facilities should be located near population centres in South Derbyshire, Derbyshire Dales, High Peak, and Bolsover, with safe coach access. Swimming Teachers and Instructional Staff must hold Level 2 qualifications. All providers must deliver the Council's bespoke curriculum and operate the 30-week academic year programme, plus additional top-up weeks. Facilities must include appropriately sized fixed hoists and/or pods for younger and smaller users, sling hoists, wheelchair-accessible pods, and accessible mixed-sex changing facilities with an adjustable bed and hoist in a dedicated disabled changing area. All nationally compliant standards for policies, procedures, and risk assessments (NOP, EAP, H+S) are required. The Open Framework scheme will commence in September 2027 for a maximum of 8 years, with additional pre-scheduled frameworks awarded at 2-year intervals. This is a £5.4 million contract over the full term.
