Clocktower Repair and Renovation Services

Dorchester Town Council is seeking expressions of interest from experienced and qualified construction companies to undertake comprehensive repair and renovation work on the Corn Exchange Clocktower. The project includes structural repairs to the lead spire, rafter ends, roof timbers, bell chamber floor, and structural metalwork. Work also encompasses repairs and replacement of external and internal facing stonework using lime mortar, installation and repair of rainwater goods, repair and strengthening of bell fastenings, and restoration of the clock mechanisms, clock dials, and bells through specialist subcontractors. Scaffolding design has been provided and associated scaffolding works are included in the scope. Interested construction companies should demonstrate relevant experience in heritage building restoration and complex structural repair work.
