Gateshead Residential and Nursing Care Homes Framework Agreement

Gateshead Council is establishing a Light Touch Framework to commission Residential and Nursing Care Home services for older people across the borough. This framework covers provision for all resident groups including those with general care needs, learning disabilities, physical disabilities, mental health conditions, autism, neurological conditions, and palliative/end-of-life care. Only care homes physically located in Gateshead that are fully operational and CQC-registered at the time of bid submission are eligible to apply. The initial procurement will close to new applications once complete, but the council commits to reopening the framework at least annually on the contract anniversary date to allow new or previously unsuccessful providers to apply. Existing framework members do not need to reapply during reopening windows. The council retains discretion to reopen and close the framework at other intervals as needed.
