Food Loss and Waste Analysis Consultant for Indonesian Rice Supply Chain

WRAP is seeking an experienced consultant or team to conduct a comprehensive food loss and waste hotspot analysis across Indonesia's rice supply chain. The project will: (1) assess all stages from on-farm production through household consumption, including collection points, storage, milling, processing, distribution, transport, and retail; (2) collect operational data on tonnes, value, and methane impact estimates; (3) identify root causes of losses and waste; (4) design and implement practical, scalable interventions at 1-2 pilot sites such as milling facilities; and (5) measure outcomes against agreed performance indicators to quantify food waste reduction, methane emission reductions, and operational improvements. The work will engage farmer groups to investigate pre-harvest practices affecting downstream waste, document causes, and recommend farm-level mitigations. Applicants must develop a scalability plan demonstrating how successful interventions can be expanded across Indonesia's rice supply chains to achieve measurable climate and economic benefits.
