    Brief

This opportunity focuses on reimagining and improving the Healthy Child Programme for children and young people aged 5-19. The service aims to address significant health challenges including complex health needs, SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities), mental health disorders, digital health risks, and poor nutrition that impact learning and outcomes. The government is committed to developing the healthiest generation of children by shifting towards community-based, prevention-focused health services. School nursing services must align with neighbourhood health teams and strengthen the role of public health specialists. Suppliers are invited to help identify current service variations, opportunities, and challenges; understand how and where young people prefer to access health services; and support the development of integrated neighbourhood health teams. This work will inform implementation of an enhanced, coordinated service model that better meets children and young people's needs.
