    Brief

The UK Government's Blue Belt Programme seeks to procure two ISO standard 20-foot containerised laboratory facilities for Ascension Island and Montserrat to support fisheries science data collection at fish landing sites. The supplier must design, manufacture, and deliver fully equipped laboratories featuring: laboratory-standard flooring, temperature control systems suitable for tropical climates, stainless steel work benches with integrated sinks, commercial-grade ice machines, chest freezers (-20°C capacity), electrical and plumbing connections, RFiD access control systems with 100 pre-programmed cards, fire safety equipment, and comprehensive spare parts documentation. Each container must comply with International Maritime Organisation safety standards, include new equipment with 12-month warranties, and be designed for easy maintenance by non-specialist engineers. The supplier should propose the optimal solution based on their expertise, with final design to be agreed collaboratively with Cefas and the Overseas Territories following contract award. Installation will be handled by the respective territorial governments.
