Textile and Shoe Bank Supply Services for Medway and Gravesham Councils 2026-2029

Medway Council and Gravesham Council are seeking a textile bank provider to supply and manage textile and shoe collection banks at recycling points in council-owned car parks and pre-approved private sites from October 2026. Key responsibilities include: emptying banks at least weekly to prevent overflow; removing excess textile waste around banks during collection visits; providing monthly tonnage reports for each site; paying councils an agreed rate per tonne collected; and maintaining banks to high health and safety standards. The initial contract runs for 12 months with options to extend for an additional 12 months (following a 6-month review) and then for a further 2 years, unless terminated per contract conditions. This is a significant opportunity for textile recycling operators to establish a multi-year partnership with two local authorities and contribute to waste reduction and circular economy goals.
