Barista Training for Ex-Prisoners in South London

Reed in Partnership is a national organization with 26 years of experience in providing government services, helping over 300,000 individuals find employment. We aim to transform lives and communities by supporting individuals, their families, and their local areas, especially in challenging situations. Our focus is on helping people gain employment, improve their health, develop skills, and reach their potential. We are delivering the HMPPS Creating Future Opportunities Evolution programme in South London, which supports prison leavers transitioning from custody to community life. Our Community Hubs in Lewisham and Croydon provide personalized support to ex-offenders, assisting them in rebuilding their lives with dignity and purpose. We are looking to enhance our services by offering barista training, which will provide comprehensive training and employment pathways at our Lewisham and Croydon locations. This 12-month program aims to support 132 individuals in acquiring practical skills, building confidence, and accessing sustainable jobs in the hospitality sector. We invite organizations with a strong background in delivering inclusive and effective barista training and employment services to submit Expressions of Interest (EOIs). Applicants should demonstrate: - Experience in providing on-site, face-to-face barista training, including supervision and practical instruction at our hubs. - Capability in delivering comprehensive training and employment pathways, including training, CV writing, interview preparation, soft skills development, job placement, and ongoing support for individuals to secure and maintain employment as baristas or in other hospitality roles. - Proven success in working with this client group, including knowledge of inclusive hiring practices for individuals with convictions and effective consultation with those who have lived experience in the criminal justice system to inform program design and delivery. - Strong workplace safeguarding policies to ensure the safety and well-being of participants.
