Street Lighting and Traffic Sign Maintenance Services

Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council invites tenders from qualified contractors to provide comprehensive maintenance services for street lighting, illuminated traffic signs, footway bollards, and feeder pillars across the council area. Scope of Work: The council operates approximately 30,300 streetlights, 2,400 illuminated traffic signs, 38 illuminated footway bollards, and 1,300 feeder pillars. Equipment is mounted on columns and sign posts ranging from 1.5 to 12 metres in height, constructed from stainless steel, galvanised mild steel, folded steel, and aluminium in varying conditions. Electricity is supplied through a combination of utility company services and the council's private cable network. Responsibilities: The successful contractor will be the sole provider responsible for all maintenance activities including: repairing outages; repairing or replacing infrastructure; electrical testing; and providing 24-hour emergency response to ensure highway safety. The contractor must isolate and pot-end connections for damaged bollards requiring replacement. Contract Terms: This is a single-contractor appointment based on the Institution of Civil Engineers' NEC4 Term Service Contract 2017 (with January 2023 amendments) using main option clause A (Priced Contract with Price List).
