HGV Driver Recruitment Campaign for Greater Cambridge Waste Service

Greater Cambridge Shared Waste Service (GCSWS), a partnership between South Cambridgeshire District Council and Cambridge City Council, is launching a recruitment campaign to hire 20 HGV drivers and crew members. The service is expanding operations to introduce weekly food waste collections to approximately 140,000 households across Greater Cambridge in 2026. Due to increased service demand and workforce turnover including retirements, GCSWS needs to grow its driver team from current levels to 70 total drivers. This campaign aims to attract qualified, licensed HGV drivers by highlighting the benefits of employment with a public service provider, positioning GCSWS as a preferred regional employer, and generating high-quality applications through targeted, high-impact marketing strategies.
