Public Engagement and Focus Group Delivery for Genome Synthesis Research

Sense about Science, an independent charity with over 20 years of public engagement expertise, will support the Wellcome Trust-funded Care-full Synthesis project by organizing and delivering focus groups across 3-4 countries including the UK. The organization will lead participant recruitment, co-design discussion guides, facilitate focus group discussions on human genome synthesis, and help synthesize findings into reports. Sense about Science will also provide expert input on public engagement strategy for project outputs including white papers, primers, and policy documents. This work aligns with the organization's mission to promote sound science and evidence in the public interest, using its proven 'public-led, expert-fed' approach that ensures public concerns are heard and addressed throughout the research synthesis process.
