Security Services Contract - Joseph Chamberlain College

Joseph Chamberlain College is seeking an experienced security services provider to deliver comprehensive security across the College campus. This contract is divided into two lots that may be awarded separately or to a single supplier: Lot 1: External Security - including manned guards and car park monitoring and management Lot 2: Internal Security and Commissionaire Duties Contract Details: • Duration: Initial 2-year term starting 23 August 2026, with potential for two 12-month extensions (maximum 4 years total) • Structure: Fixed-cost contract on a guaranteed performance basis • Hours: 38 weeks per academic year plus ad hoc events outside term time • TUPE applies (existing staff transfer expected) Key Requirements: • All staff must hold a current Security Industry Authority (SIA) license • All guards require enhanced DBS checks including children's barred list • Guards operating CCTV must hold SIA CCTV License and Level 2 CCTV Operations qualification • Minimum use of sub-contractors; guards should be directly employed • Demonstrated experience in education sector, preferably inner-city schools • Strong operational base in Birmingham preferred • Robust local management support with reactive response capability • Proactive contract management with regular management reporting The successful supplier will provide a safe environment for students and staff while protecting college premises and assets, maintaining day-to-day operational excellence.
