Dog Pound Services - Monaghan County Council

Monaghan County Council is seeking a qualified service provider to operate a dog pound facility and deliver comprehensive dog care services. The provider will be responsible for the secure accommodation, care, control, and processing of seized, stray, and unwanted dogs in compliance with the Control of Dogs Act. Key service areas include: Facility Operations - providing secure, clean kennels with adequate capacity and a safe environment; Dog Care - daily feeding, exercise, cleaning, and welfare monitoring; Dog Health Services - coordinating veterinary treatment, vaccinations, microchipping, and humane euthanasia when necessary through a third-party veterinary practice; Public Interface - managing dog reclaims, rehoming, and public communications; Legal Compliance - maintaining detailed records and ensuring adherence to dog control legislation; and Coordination - collaborating closely with dog wardens and council staff. This contract prioritizes animal welfare, public safety, and regulatory compliance.
