    Brief

NRS Dounreay is seeking a feasibility study to evaluate ion exchange treatment technology for managing approximately 150-200 cubic meters of liquor stored in the Wet Silo, a below-ground vault with two hydraulically connected compartments containing radioactive solids and sludges. The study will include: consultation and support for liquor sampling, development of a suitable ion exchange treatment process using analytical data, performance of inactive and active liquor ion exchange processing trials to inform modular treatment plant design, and production of a comprehensive feasibility report with treatment plant development, proposals, and outline concept design. This work will establish the technical foundation for implementing a modular liquor treatment system.
