Care Services Provider Opportunity - Griffin Court Extra Care Housing Scheme

South Tyneside Council is inviting experienced care providers to an online engagement session for a forthcoming opportunity to deliver care and support services at Griffin Court, a new Extra Care Housing scheme in Hebburn. The 95-apartment scheme (75 one-bed and 20 two-bed apartments, including 17 specialist dementia apartments) will be delivered in partnership with Karbon Homes, the Registered Landlord. Karbon Homes will provide housing-related support and activities programming, with housing staff on-site 8.30am-5pm, 7 days per week. The scheme will support adults aged 18+ with Care Act eligible needs, including those with physical disabilities, dementia, learning disabilities, autism, and mental health conditions. Completion is expected October/November 2026, with phased resident moves commencing January 2027. This engagement session will outline the council's Extra Care vision and strategic priorities, provide a scheme overview and commissioning intentions, share indicative procurement timelines, and allow providers to ask questions and help shape the service model. The council seeks high-quality, experienced providers interested in tendering. Contract value and length are estimated at this early stage.
