Structural Assessment Load Models Review for UK Highways

National Highways seeks expert support to review and update structural assessment load models in the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB). This three-phase project involves examining current design standards (CS454), comparing them with Eurocode requirements, and implementing necessary revisions. Phase 1 focuses on reviewing partial factors, identifying design requirement gaps, and assessing background calibration documents. Phase 2 entails conducting technical analyses, evaluating the feasibility of adopting Eurocode load models and reduced partial factors, and assessing impacts on related DMRB documents. Phase 3 involves implementing approved changes within the CARS system, supporting governance procedures, and delivering editable electronic versions of all amended documents. The successful contractor will work closely with the National Highways Structures Group and document owners to ensure consistency across all relevant standards and procedures.
