    Brief

The Environmental and Industrial Hazards (EIH) Laboratory at the Institute of Naval Medicine (INM) seeks a Headspace Gas Chromatograph Mass Spectrometer (HS-GC-MS) system to replace its current equipment. The system will analyze volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in potable drinking water samples from Royal Navy, Royal Marines, Royal Fleet Auxiliary vessels, and other UK Defence establishment customers. Analysis must comply with BRd 820 (Potable Water Management), Water Supply Water Quality Regulations 2016, STANAG 2136, JWP 4.01, and GAI 3006 standards, fulfilling mandatory health and safety requirements for the Ministry of Defence. The system must be based on USEPA Method 524.2 and operate reliably for 10 years with a fully inclusive service and maintenance plan covering the entire period. This is a critical procurement supporting legal compliance for water quality testing across Defence infrastructure. Note: This requirement has been assessed as Level 1 on the Cyber Risk Profile according to the Cyber Security Model (CSM) Risk Assessment.
