    Brief

    The Standards and Testing Agency (STA), an Executive Agency of the Department for Education, is seeking suppliers for a four-year framework (1 February 2027 to 31 January 2031) to develop and deliver modified versions of National Curriculum Tests for students with visual impairments, hearing impairments, and special education needs and disabilities (SEND). Key Requirements: • Develop modified test versions in large print and Unified English Braille (UEB) formats • Cover: Phonics Screening Check (braille), Key Stage 1-3 English Reading, English Grammar/Punctuation/Spelling, and Mathematics tests • Provide assessment reports evaluating test items and recommending modifications for future development • Amend standard mark schemes to ensure consistent marking of modified tests • Deliver braille proofing and quality assurance for Grade 1 and 2 UEB versions • Operate a specialist helpline service to support schools and test users • Facilitate orders of past braille materials and reception baseline assessment resources • Validate and process modified test orders Test requirements are subject to change based on government policy and will be specified in individual call-offs. This is a significant opportunity for suppliers with expertise in accessible assessment and braille production.
