Community ADHD and Autism Assessment Services - Urgent Funding Initiative

NHS Essex ICB is seeking accredited independent and NHS providers to deliver urgent ADHD and autism spectrum disorder (ASD) assessment services. This is a time-limited opportunity to reduce waiting times for children and adults currently on extended waiting lists (52+ weeks). The ICB has allocated £160,008 to transfer approximately 75 patients from the longest waiting lists to capable providers between 23 March 2026 and 30 June 2026. This urgent award has been triggered by unexpected non-recurrent funding availability and the critical need to mobilise additional assessment capacity rapidly. Providers on the existing CYP (Children and Young People) and Adult frameworks are invited to scope activity and submit proposals. The short contract term (2 months 16 days) reflects the funding availability window, with potential to extend into the new financial year. This initiative addresses a significant national issue affecting patient access to timely diagnostic services.
