    Brief

The Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment seeks a qualified consultant to conduct a comprehensive analysis of Ireland's renewable energy and green technology supply chain. This analysis will examine the entire renewable energy ecosystem, including generation, grid infrastructure, transmission, storage, and end-use applications such as green hydrogen. The consultant will map Ireland's green tech sector capabilities, identify key companies and their specializations, assess competitive advantages and vulnerabilities, and recommend areas for growth and international partnerships. Specific deliverables include: defining priority green technology subsectors; mapping comprehensive supply chains from upstream to downstream activities; analyzing the enterprise landscape including company capabilities and geographic distribution; evaluating supply chain resilience and identifying bottlenecks; and quantifying market opportunities for domestic growth and export potential. The analysis will provide evidence to inform government policy decisions on innovation support, capacity building, and industry clustering initiatives. This work will identify where Ireland has strengths to leverage, areas requiring international collaboration, and opportunities for enterprise development and inward investment in the green technology sector.
