    Brief

The United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority seeks a SCADA specialist to design, manufacture, deliver, install, and commission a new Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system for the J5 facility. The project involves replacing the legacy 400/33kV substation control and automation systems, including the historic CODAS system, existing SCADA, and Programmable Logic Controllers, with a modern, integrated site-wide master SCADA system fully compliant with IEC 61850 protocol standards. The new system will feature an operator workstation located in the J5 control room and will provide complete control authority across both J5 and D8 locations with intelligent interlocking capabilities to prevent operational failures and errors. The SCADA system must integrate seamlessly with all numerical and auxiliary devices, transmitting alarms, trip signals, and status indications via fibre optic or Ethernet connections to the main control room. Suppliers should have expertise in IEC 61850 protocol implementation, SCADA system architecture, control room automation, and experience working with critical infrastructure facilities.
