Consultant Support for Biodiversity Net Gain Delivery

The West Yorkshire Combined Authority is partnering with Bradford, Calderdale, Kirklees, and Wakefield councils to establish a Responsible Body service that oversees Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) delivery on local authority land. This service ensures consistent, transparent, and legally compliant BNG implementation across all four partner councils, helping them meet biodiversity objectives and statutory requirements. The Combined Authority seeks a consultant on a cost-per-task basis to provide specialist support including: reviewing Habitat Management and Monitoring Plans (HMMPs), issuing Certificates of Completion, preparing Habitat Bank Monitoring Reports, and conducting Habitat Bank visits and assessments. This is an opportunity for environmental consultants to support councils in delivering environmental commitments and protecting biodiversity across the region.
