Grounds Maintenance and Gardening Services

Wembury Parish Council is seeking experienced contractors to provide grounds maintenance and gardening services throughout the parish. This contract involves the upkeep of public spaces, including the recreation ground, verges, and other council-owned properties. **Scope of Work:** The selected contractor will be responsible for: 1. **Hedge and Verge Maintenance:** Regularly pruning, trimming, and maintaining hedges, verges, and bushes owned by Wembury Parish Council. 2. **Weeding and Plant Care:** Ensuring the Wembury Recreational Ground and wildflower verges are well-maintained. 3. **Tree Care:** Monitoring tree health, removing tree guards as needed, and reporting any tree condition issues. 4. **General Grounds Maintenance:** Clearing gutters, weeding pavements, and managing overgrowth in the recreation ground and around bus shelters and noticeboards. Keeping public spaces tidy by removing leaves, mud, and debris, especially in parking areas. Removing dead plants unless they are left for wildlife. 5. **Seasonal Work:** Conducting leaf clearance and general maintenance during autumn and winter. 6. **General Reporting:** Performing regular inspections and reporting any observed issues. 7. **Other Works:** Completing any additional tasks mutually agreed upon with Wembury Parish Council. **Eligibility Criteria:** Contractors must meet the following requirements: - Proven experience in gardening and grounds maintenance, including tree care. - Ability to perform all tasks listed in the scope of work to a high standard. - Valid insurance coverage, including public liability insurance. - References from previous clients, preferably local authorities. - Valid health and safety certifications. - Capability to provide reliable and professional service year-round.
