Playground Surface Replacement and Safety Upgrades

This project involves replacing a failing playground surface on the Village Green in the village centre. The existing wetpour surface (approximately 275m2) is deteriorating in multiple areas, and the sub-base is uneven and failing. The preferred replacement material is bonded rubber woodchip effect, which has performed well on the site's heavy clay soil. The scope of work includes: removing and disposing of the existing wetpour surface and brick edging; excavating and preparing the base with 100mm minimum depth MOT Type 1 stone, fully compacted; supplying and laying minimum 275m2 of recycled rubberised material bonded in-situ with polyurethane; replacing 7 fence posts and 5 gate posts; providing temporary Heras fencing, welfare facilities, equipment, materials, and site security during works; and clearing the site to leave a safe environment for public use. Contractors should verify quantities on site. A works and surface guarantee will be required. The client is open to specification modifications following site inspection.
