Digital Equipment for UAD Creative Labs

The University of Art and Design Cluj-Napoca is seeking to procure high-tech computing and visualization equipment for its UAD Creative Labs project, which aims to enhance digital infrastructure for the arts. This project will run from September 2022 to December 2025 and has four main objectives: 1) Establishing four digital laboratories, including a rapid prototyping lab, an immersive media lab, a graphic services lab, and a mobile lab for digital archiving. 2) Improving students' qualifications in visual arts and entrepreneurial skills to enhance their employability. 3) Developing the university's digital campus to improve data processing related to students' educational paths and increase student satisfaction with digital infrastructure. 4) Implementing a cloud-based integrated information security management system to ensure digital security across the university's infrastructure. The procurement of the specified products will contribute to achieving the first objective of the project. The immersive media lab will be equipped with high-tech tools for artistic research and creation in areas such as augmented reality, virtual reality, sound, light, animation, haptics, motion capture, video mapping, and video processing. The graphic services lab will focus on high-tech tools for image production, processing, and reproduction. The mobile lab will provide equipment for photography, data capture, storage, and archiving. The laboratories will be customized to meet the specific needs of all UAD departments, facilitating interdepartmental and inter-institutional collaboration and ensuring compatibility among various technologies and systems.
