IT Network Equipment and Services Framework Agreement for University of Galway

University of Galway is requesting tenders to establish a single supplier framework agreement for IT equipment, software, and services to support its network infrastructure. The initial contract will deliver a DDI (DNS, DHCP, and IP Address Management) solution for the university's on-premises network. The university operates an extensive network supporting approximately 5,000 wired nodes connected through 600 Cisco switches, 1,000 wireless access points serving 15,000 concurrent users during teaching periods, and satellite campuses at Shannon, Carna, and Gaoth Dobhair. The current DDI infrastructure consists of 9 appliances across two data centres using proprietary grid architecture, providing DNS translation, DHCP address assignment, IP address tracking, and network reporting. Successful tenderers should be prepared to maintain, upgrade, or replace this enterprise-grade solution while ensuring continuous support for all campus networks including wired, wireless, and WAN connectivity. Suppliers should demonstrate expertise in Cisco networking equipment, enterprise DDI platforms, and large-scale network management supporting higher education institutions.
