Home Security Support Service for Domestic Abuse Victims in Peterborough

Peterborough City Council is seeking a provider to deliver a domestic abuse target hardening service that helps victims of domestic abuse enhance the security of their homes. This service supports approximately 175 people whose perpetrators no longer live in the property. Key responsibilities include: - Receiving and prioritizing referrals from the Peterborough Independent Domestic Violence Adviser (IDVA) Service, Cambridgeshire Constabulary, Cambridgeshire Victim and Witness Hub, and other specialist domestic abuse services - Contacting referred victims within 2 working days and scheduling appointments within 7 days - Installing physical security upgrades (such as locks, alarms, and reinforced doors) to meet individual safety needs - Ensuring all security measures comply with British Standards and fire escape requirements - Providing victims with safety guidance to reduce the risk of repeat victimisation - Identifying additional support needs and connecting victims with relevant specialist services - Recording all interactions and collecting victim feedback for outcome monitoring - Building and maintaining partnerships with statutory and third sector organizations supporting domestic abuse victims This is a statutory requirement under the Domestic Abuse Act 2021 to ensure safe accommodation for victims while enabling them to remain in their own homes.
