Cultural Events Organisation Programme - Northern Ireland (PEACEPLUS Funded)

Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council is seeking qualified organisations or individuals to deliver a comprehensive cultural engagement programme funded by PEACEPLUS. The programme aims to build understanding and cohesion between local indigenous communities and newcomer (BME - Black and Minority Ethnic) communities through shared cultural experiences in music, dance, food, arts and crafts. Key Objectives: Address community division, improve relationships, increase cultural understanding, and support newcomer integration through cross-community engagement. Deliverables: - Recruit 280 participants (with balanced representation: 33% CNR, 33% PUL, 33% Other communities) - Deliver minimum 26 hours of meaningful cross-community engagement per participant - Run educational workshops covering diversity, equality, active citizenship, relationship building and conflict management (preferably accredited) - Organise 7 showcase events featuring local music, arts, food and dance across the Borough - Deliver 2 large public celebration events - Create a digital/promotional vehicle capturing and promoting cultural activities across the Borough Expected Outcomes: Increased confidence in exploring other cultures, improved indigenous-newcomer relationships, enhanced sense of safety and respect, greater trust between communities, and increased newcomer participation in wider society.
