Mattress Collection and Recycling Services in North London

LondonEnergy Ltd is seeking suppliers to provide collection, treatment, and recycling services for mattresses from various locations in North London. This contract will last for 2 years, with the possibility of extending for two additional one-year periods. The contract is set to begin on September 20, 2025. The service will cover the collection and recycling of mattresses from seven sites, including Waste Transfer Stations and Reuse and Recycling Centers (RRCs). The mattresses collected will primarily come from local authority collection services and will not include institutional mattresses or items classified as Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs). Forecasted collection volumes are based on 2024 data and are subject to change. Weekly collection schedules will be established, and the winning bidder must adhere to these schedules as part of the contract's Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Due to space limitations, collections at RRCs will be conducted using refuse collection vehicles (RCVs), while loads from Waste Transfer Stations will be collected using articulated vehicles loaded by LondonEnergy's 360 mobile plant. Note that third-party collection vehicles cannot be used at Hornsey Street Waste Transfer Station due to compatibility issues with the site's compaction loading equipment.
