Waste Management Services for Organic Waste in Germany

The Ostmecklenburg-Vorpommersche Recycling and Landfill Company is responsible for the processing of waste from the districts of Mecklenburgische Seenplatte, Vorpommern-Greifswald, and Vorpommern-Rügen. This contract opportunity involves the processing of a portion of organic waste collected from the organic waste bins in the Vorpommern-Rügen district, specifically for lots 5 to 8. The majority of the organic waste will be processed at the OVVD's own composting facility in Reinberg, which is planned to be expanded. This tender is for the management of waste quantities until the completion of the planned expansion of the Reinberg composting facility. The waste quantities will be generated from March to December, with no organic waste to be processed by the contractor in January and February. Currently, the organic waste contains a high proportion of green waste (sometimes more than 50%). The contracting authority estimates that approximately 16,000 metric tons of organic waste will need to be processed annually by the contractor during the contract period. Delivery will be made by the contracting authority or a designated third party throughout the respective month. Weighing will occur upon delivery of the organic waste at the contractor's processing facility on a calibrated scale. The contractor is required to process the organic waste through composting or fermentation, with the specific technology not being prescribed. Energy recovery is excluded as per the specifications.
