Brief
zb Zentralbahn AG is seeking suppliers for the procurement of modular freight wagons from 2026 to 2032. The detailed specifications can be found in the tender documents. The core component of this procurement is a modular freight wagon equipped with retractable or easily mountable container fittings, including safety mechanisms (such as clamps or screws for containers) if necessary. The chassis will include pneumatic and electronic units (complete with all valves, containers, and electrical components). Additionally, space for an inventory box will be provided. The modular freight wagons must be equipped with two lightweight bogies suitable for rack-and-pinion operation, which can be used across the entire network of zb Zentralbahn AG. Furthermore, the wagons must come with a braking system that meets current standards and AB-EBV regulations, ensuring safe braking on a gradient of 125 ‰, both when loaded and unloaded. The following modules are planned: * Assembly module (e.g., scissor lift, crane, catenary positioner) * Passenger module (e.g., seating, kitchenette) * Rail loading cranes (for loading and unloading 36 m rail coupons) * Long rail train * Coil module (for laying underground cables, rotatable frame) * Cleaning module (1x 7 m³ water tank + platform for high-pressure cleaner, 1x 3.5 m³ water tank) * ACTS module (swiveling roll-off container frame) The ideal length of the modular freight wagons is approximately 14.5 m (over coupling), allowing for the accommodation of two 20-foot or four 10-foot ISO containers. The rail vehicles to be procured must have an indefinite approval from the Federal Office of Transport (BAV).
