Renewal of Overhead Line System for Dortmund-Hamm Railway Section

This project involves the comprehensive renewal of the overhead line system for the section of railway from kilometer 136.130 to kilometer 145.350, defined as the second construction phase. This section is bordered by adjacent construction phases 1 and 3, which are separate projects. The railway line 2650 was electrified between 1954 and 1957 and shows significant signs of wear. The maintenance efforts for this heavily used line are progressively increasing and are increasingly affecting operational processes. The goal of the project is to renew the overhead line system in the specified section according to the current state of technology. Existing cross fields will be replaced with individual support points to ensure the mechanical separation of the overhead lines in the future. Preliminary work for the renewal of the overhead line system is to be carried out during the closure period in 2027. The design planning must be completed by the end of 2026, and it should include the identification of probing points for ordnance clearance to allow for the clearance during the closure period in 2027. Upon commissioning of service phase 5, a technical and construction review must be conducted for a successful plan review. After the plan review, phases 6 and 7 must be completed.
