Construction Project for School Renovation and Sports Hall in Bietigheim

The municipality of Bietigheim/Baden is planning the renovation and expansion of an existing three-story school building, including a basement, into a three-stream primary school with a new cafeteria/event space and a single-field sports hall. The existing building and the caretaker's building have been assessed for hazardous materials, and remediation will be carried out before the main construction work begins. The caretaker's building and the eastern entrance structure will be completely demolished. Inside the existing building, a complete gutting and removal of the wooden roof structure will take place. The existing building will have extensions on the east and west sides, each adding additional classrooms on the first and second floors. These extensions are designed to be structurally effective for the earthquake resistance of the existing building. On the east side facing Tullastr., a single-story extension will be built, which will include the new cafeteria with a regeneration kitchen, as well as the main entrance with an event room and the single-field sports hall with its ancillary rooms. The carpentry work includes the supply and installation of shelving and cabinet elements that will be mounted in the classrooms in front of the window sills. These shelving areas will integrate flush, floor-to-ceiling cabinet elements with a front door featuring ventilation slots, serving as a cover for the decentralized ventilation units. The furniture will be made from MDF boards with HPL coating. Heating pipes will be installed under the furniture floors. In the existing building, some heating pipes will be surface-mounted and must be covered with corresponding baseboards included in the specifications. Additionally, the scope of work includes the fabrication and installation of a complete kitchenette with lower, upper, and tall cabinets, as well as all electrical appliances. The scope also includes the supply and installation of sanitary partition walls and washbasin countertops made of HPL material, into which sinks will be integrated in the restroom areas. In the cafeteria kitchen and adjacent rooms, a four-sided window reveal cladding made of HPL boards is planned. In the main stairwell, an oiled oak handrail will be installed on the railings mounted by the metalwork trade and on the wall side, which must run continuously from the basement to the second floor. Another installation component includes the supply and installation of plastic wall protection panels on the walls of the delivery corridor to the cafeteria kitchen.
