Construction of a New Lock at Erlangen

This contract involves the construction of a new lock facility at the Main-Danube Canal, km 41.050, specifically the replacement of the Erlangen lock. Key construction activities include: excavation and site preparation; building the lock chamber, including the upper and lower gates, inlet and outlet structures, and three basin levels in solid construction; constructing the upper and lower forebays and connecting them to the existing Main-Danube Canal; canal sealing in dry conditions; steel hydraulic engineering; mechanical engineering; technical building; technical equipment; and planning services. The new lock will be built east of the existing Erlangen lock, which will remain operational during the construction. The height difference of the water retention is 18.30 m, and the length of the lock structure without forebays is approximately 330 m. The total length of the construction site, including the canal connection, is about 2,300 m.
