Connected Parents Service - Community Support for Families

Wigan Council Public Health is seeking providers for a new Healthy Child Programme (HCP) Connected Parents service. This community-based service will support parents, carers and families of children and young people aged 0-19 years (up to 25 years for young people with SEND), with emphasis on the first 1001 days and adolescence. The service focuses on five key areas: (1) Parenting Confidence and Family Relationships - building parental confidence and peer connections; (2) Infant Feeding, Food and Nutrition - community-based infant feeding support and healthy nutrition promotion; (3) Key Transitions and Development - supporting families through pregnancy, early parenthood, school transitions and adolescence; (4) Community Capacity and Connected Communities - developing volunteering, peer support networks and connecting families to local services; and (5) VCFSE Development and Community Wealth Building - strengthening the voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise sector through partnership and capacity building. The service will complement existing Public Health Nursing and Family Hub services. Wigan Council is holding an early market engagement event on Monday 21 September, 10:00am-12:00pm at St Peter's Pavilion, Hindley to share commissioning intentions, outline the developing specification, answer questions and explore collaboration opportunities.
