Interim Senior Associate for Corporate Finance in Major Projects

This contract has been awarded under the ESPO Framework 3S-22 for Strategic HR Services, specifically Lot 1c, which covers Commercial services including Finance, Procurement, and Legal. The role of the Interim Senior Associate (Corporate Finance) involves supporting the Project Lead on various reservoir projects, including SESRO, Fens, and Lincs. The project portfolio may change over time. Key responsibilities include: 1. Assisting in the review of Major Project submissions from water companies seeking Ofwat's approval to initiate procurement for construction or financing. 2. Analyzing project delivery risks and issues in collaboration with technical and legal advisors, and evaluating potential solutions. 3. Acting as the deputy project lead when necessary, leading meetings, and representing Ofwat in discussions. 4. Coordinating information between advisors and project teams, preparing clear queries and structured responses as needed. 5. Drafting initial versions of board papers, presentations, and policy documents. 6. Taking detailed meeting notes and maintaining accurate governance records. 7. Conducting high-level research or verifying information to support decision-making. 8. Coordinating stakeholder engagement and ensuring timely follow-up on actions and queries. 9. Assisting in identifying and monitoring project risks, issues, and compliance milestones. 10. Preparing concise financial and progress reports for internal use, including scenario analyses for major meetings or quarterly updates. 11. Organizing project documentation to ensure continuity and effective knowledge management by saving documents in the appropriate folders.
