Renovation and Construction of a Public Swimming Pool in Oer-Erkenschwick

The public swimming pool, built in 1969, is located centrally in Oer-Erkenschwick, right next to Stimberg Park. Due to numerous deficiencies, the pool operations were completely halted in 2019. This project involves the complete demolition of the existing pools and the construction of new pools, a technical basement, and a spray park at the same location. A new access building will be constructed in solid construction in the southern area, which will include windows and doors. This access building will facilitate independent use of the swimming pool. Access to the building will be provided from the existing public city parking lot with 105 spaces on Buschstraße, along with 5 barrier-free parking spaces and one emergency vehicle space measuring at least 3.50m wide, located directly at the building's entrance. According to structural calculations, an 18 cm thick foundation slab is required, supported by strip foundations that are 50 cm wide and 62 cm deep. A frost-resistant substructure is necessary as per the soil report. The outer walls of the access building will be constructed from 24 cm thick masonry, while the inner walls will be made of 11.5 cm thick masonry. The roof will be a sloped reinforced concrete roof. The main entrance will be located on the southwest side, centrally aligned with the building. The spacious outdoor passage will divide the entrance building into two halves. The northwest half of the building will feature a thermal insulation facade, while the southeast half and the swimming supervision booth will be finished with exterior plaster without thermal insulation.
